Often when doing these I'll do a very rough version beforehand of basically just the important features, whether that be the shape of the body or the facial layout. Doing this helps me to get an idea of how to size everything on the real attempt. Sometimes those early rough sketches end up with facial details I can't replicate when I'm trying really hard, which causes me to consider just making the rough sketch the final etches. That's what I did here; not because I felt I nailed anything in particular, I just wanted to do a quick etch in that haphazard style and this is what I ended up with.
Awesome, Brian!
