Amanda Palmer and The Grand Theft Orchesta, "Theatre Is Evil" Etch-A-Sketch

I've been an Amanda Palmer fan since The Dresden Doll's self-titled album in 2003. I started as a casual fan, listening to every release and liking her a little more after each. After she did the solo album, "Who Killed Amanda Palmer?", I think she was firmly established as one of my favorite artists. At this point, I would say AFP has eclipsed all my music/art favorites and has become my number one art hero.

I posted this sketch to my deviantART page today and within an hour or two it made its way to her twitter, from which she retweeted the image. Definitely a special moment in my art career thus far.

A while back I posted a candy art portrait I did of Thom Yorke, of Radiohead. I tried to follow it up with a skittle/M&M portrait of Amanda Palmer, but my cat ended up walking through it before it was completed.

The image is based on a photo I took at The Dresden Doll's 10 Year Bandiversary Show in New York I attended on Halloween a few years back. Maybe someday I'll try again... Thanks for checking out my Etch A Sketch art! Visit again soon for something new or check out my other pages online for things that might not appear here...
